This was my first time on the west coast, and oh my gosh! I had so much fun. I really want to make it back out there for another con, or heck, just visiting friends. I wore Garnet and a new costume: Zelda from Skyward Sword! Sadly, the costume didn't turn out the way I had hoped it would... I might try remaking it in this one week before Colossal, but those chances are slim. It'll definitely have some upgrades over the summer though.
I was sick during the entire trip, sadly. I spent one entire day sleeping (not a con day) so I could feel better during most of the trip.
Here's a brief con summary!
At 4am, John, Amanda, Ackson and I left for Flint to the airport for FANIME!! The flight to Chicago was super short, and the flight to San Francisco wasn't too bad either. Seeing the Rocky Mountains from so high up was AMAZING. I really had a hard time doing much on Wednesday... When we got to Julie's apartment, I spent nearly the entire day sleeping!
Thursday, we went to San Jose. I took it easy at the hotel, though I felt MUCH better. I didn't sound like a man either... We also met our other roommates, Vince and Sasha. They're pretty awesome.
I wasn't feeling so great Friday... I slept a good chunk of the day away. When I did go to the con, I just went to the dealer's room at ended up sitting in front of the Arda booth, chatting with Vince and other other lovely ladies when they weren't busy with customers.
It was finally time to cosplay on Saturday! I put on Garnet and went to the con. I first went to the Final Fantasy shoot, which sadly wasn't too spectacular... I did meet a lovely Rinoa (Anna) at the shoot. ♥ So, it was worth going to. When I left, I couldn't move! Photographers everywhere! I got trapped in an area for well over an hour, jumping from photographer to photographer. It was really tiring. x.x After cosplaying, I went out to dinner with Amara and friends. :3 Sadly, the restaurant kinda... really sucked. The only good thing that came out of it was, 1. new friends and 2. half off our entire bill. We had a bathroom party and hung out in the convention center.
I revealed my surprise cosplay on Sunday! I never thought I'd cosplay Zelda, but I did! I finally found an outfit I liked. I was late to the Zelda shoot, but got some photos with an Epona and Link's Crimson Loftwing. :3 That made the day sooo much better!! I really want to redo the entire costume now... I am not happy with it at all... Mainly the dress, now that I think about it... Amanda wore Garnet and looked super pretty! :3 We jumped from hotel to hotel, looking for people to hang out with. For some, it was a success! I ended up going to bed after Amara's shuttle left.
Usually on the last day of the con, we're scrambling to get everything together and head home. Not this con! Monday was spent hanging around the con center! I chatting with Kara and some of her friends for awhile before they had to go. Everyone in the room spent most of the time just relaxing in the hotel. We all had everything packed up and ready to go back to Oakland the next day.
It was a long train ride back to Julie's apartment. We rested a bit, then went to Japan Town in San Francisco. Amara and I went to Pikapika to do some Purikura, which was super fun!! :3 Ackson, Amanda, John, Julie and I ate sushi then went back to the apartment. Wednesday was spent flying back home. It kinda sucked to lose an entire day, but we made home safely!
